RRB Recruitment Indian Railways Opens Up 32,438 For Group-D Posts 2025
The Railway Recruitment Board (RRB) has once again provided a golden opportunity. The Railways has issued a short notice for Group-D recruitment, in which a total of 32,438 posts will be filled. Interested candidates can apply from January 23, 2025, to February 22, 2025. Detailed information about this recruitment will be made available soon on the official websites of RRBs
Number Of Vacancies
Vacancies have been announced in various departments in this RRB recruitment drive. These include posts in the Traffic, Engineering, Mechanical, S&T, and Electrical departments. Of these, the Traffic department has 5,058 posts of Pointsman-B, while the Engineering department has 799 vacancies for Track Machine Assistants and 13,187 vacancies for Track Maintainer Grade IV. In addition, 301 vacancies for Assistant (Bridge), 2,587 vacancies for Assistant (C&W) in the Mechanical department, 420 for Assistant (Loco Shed-Diesel), and 3,077 posts of Assistant (Workshop) will also be filled.
The Electrical department will have 1,381 posts of Assistant TRD, and 950 posts of Assistant Loco Shed (Electrical) and appointments will also be made for other various posts. Overall, 32,438 posts will be filled in this recruitment.
Eligibility
To apply for Group-D recruitment, candidates must have passed Class 10 or must have obtained a National Apprenticeship Certificate (NAC) from NCVT. The candidate's age should be between 18 and 36 years as on July 1, 2025. Relaxation in age limit will be given to candidates of different categories under the rules of RRB
Application Fee
To apply for this recruitment, general and OBC category candidates will have to pay a fee of Rs 500, out of which Rs 400 will be refunded when appearing for the Computer Based Test (CBT). On the other hand, SC, ST, EBC, female, and transgender candidates will have to pay Rs 250, which will be fully refunded if they appear for the exam
Exam Pattern
The RRB Group-D recruitment process includes a Computer-Based Test (CBT-1), a Physical Efficiency Test, document verification and medical examination. There will be four main sections in the CBT.
General Science: 25 questions
Mathematics: 25 questions
General Intelligence and Reasoning: 30 questions
General Awareness: 20 questions
1/3 marks will be deducted for each wrong answer, while 1 mark will be given for the correct answer
