Who can apply for PAN Card 2.0?
Old PAN card holders need not worry, old PAN card holders need not apply for a new PAN under the upgraded system. Old PAN cards will also remain fully functional under PAN 2.0. No new PAN cards will be issued unless the holder requests an update or correction.
What is the process of Pan Card 2.0 Apply Online?
If you already have a PAN card.
If you already have a PAN card, then you do not need to apply for a new one. You can get PAN Card 2.0 through the following steps.
First of all link your Aadhar card to PAN card.
After linking, go to the Income Tax Department website incometaxindiaefiling.gov.in.
Update your address there for free.
After updating the address, you will be provided a new PAN card through Email ID.
If you do not have a PAN card.
If you do not already have a PAN card, then you will have to apply for a new one. You can get PAN Card 2.0 made through the following steps.
Go to the Income Tax Department website.
To apply for a new application, you have to choose the option of New Application.
After the new application opens, fill the application and submit the application online through e-KYC.
Now your new PAN Card 2.0 will be made and received in a few days.
Process to update address in old PAN card for free
If you want to update address in your PAN card or apply for PAN Card 2.0 then follow the following steps:
First of all go to the official website of NSDL/UTI.
Select the address update option there.
Now you have to enter your information (eg: PAN number, Aadhaar number and date of birth).
Finally click on the submit button.
Now on the new page, write the Aadhaar number for e-KYC verification and click on the Get OTP button.
Then enter the OTP.
Now you have to fill your mobile number and email ID and verify.
Match your address as per the address mentioned on the Aadhaar card and click on the Verify button.
After this you will get a receipt of your application.
Now your address will be updated without any charge.
